Customer Reviews. I used magic jack for a year and it was okay. I continued to look for something better. Sometimes the magic jack would not connect and sometimes it would have spotty sound. I am told this has to do more with the internet connection than the Magic Jack. The Ooma actually plugs into the internet source first and makes the phone call top priority. The service has been AMAZING. The sound quality is fantastic. No dropped calls. I love being able to use a regular phone and not have to have the computer on or even deal with a computer as far as that goes. Voice mail is as good as any answering machine out there. I have had the service for going on two years and could not be happier. In the two years I have had it I think service has been down once for a day. Overall I am very pleased and think this is a product that proably really scares the cable and phone companies.
